The quit smoking symptoms and Side Effect

By Paul Bruce at 2011-02-24 04:37:07
There are many different quit smoking symptoms that appear in smokers who are trying to quit. The range of symptoms is quite wide but luckily, most smokers will not suffer all of the symptoms, only one or two. Nevertheless, some of the symptoms can be quite uncomfortable and can motivate smokers to start up and abandon quitting.

One of the main symptoms of nicotine withdrawal will be the craving for cigarettes. This is only natural as your body is pining for nicotine that it has become tolerant of, dependent upon and addicted to. The cravings subside quite readily and only require a little concentrated effort to overcome in a committed quitter.

When you quit smoking, your brain chemistry isn't able to work normally because you haven't any nicotine in your system. As a result, smokers who have been off the smokes for a day or too can get a bit cranky. They tend to be pretty unpleasant company and are liable to fly off the handle pretty easily.

But the mental and emotional symptoms are quite difficult to face as people start having temper tantrums and at times are mentally confused and are unable to make sound decisions. Smoking cessation starts showing its effect within a few hours of withdrawal, so you should be strong enough and ask for the support of your family. They should be able to take you out of the thick and thin of quit smoking symptoms with ease.

When you stop smoking, the environment in your mouth and nose changes from what has been normal whilst you were smoking. When you smoke, there is a need for your mouth, nose and throat to be well lubricated to cope with the tobacco smoke. When you stop, the lubrication levels are excessive to your needs. The change in your mouth, nose, throat and lung environment from stopping smoking is considerable.

You will most likely experience an increased appetite, and a greater desire to stuff your mouth, and if you absolutely have to give into the temptation, look for fibrous food, coarse bread, nuts, grains and prunes could be fine eating, and remember during your quit smoking period, to drink plenty of water, all things will help ease your quit smoking symptoms.

When smokers decide to quit their vicious habit, they mostly undergo both mental and physical symptoms which are very difficult to ignore. Since smoking has already been a habit to these people, they may likely find themselves craving for a smoke. In addition, people who generally smoke because of stress or anxiety, may find themselves cringing for one especially when they are being pressured or tensed. Aside from these symptoms, they may also experience physical changes such as intestinal disorders or tingling in their feet or hands.

You may start to feel a tingling sensation in your hands and your feet. After you have quit smoking your lungs will begin to clear, as this happens you may get symptoms of the flu or a cold. You may start with a sore throat, sinus problems, coughing and other symptoms of catching a cold or the flu. You might start to feel stomach cramps, or get feelings of nausea. You may start to feel a tingling sensation in your hands and your feet.
