Disease today known as "Acne" was recognized by man in times when he did not even know how to write. It is evident from history that pharaohs even suffered from this disease. It was well known disease in the times of Aristotle. It is inflammatory eruption of the skin of face, upper back, and chest. It is mostly found in the young adults.

Adult acne is much more prevalent than many realize. It effects up to 25% of the adult male population and as many as 50% of the adult female population. It can flair up at anytime but it seems to be most common in adults between the ages of 20-30. And the effects of acne in adults, which includes scarring can be just as devastating as teenagers.

The build-up of oil in the follicle causes leads to the typical pimples or lumps on the face. These bumps can be classified into five categories. Greasy food has nothing to do with acne. Again, it's certain hormones in food that favors acne like in skin milk, which has been proven to be even worse than whole milk for acne. Once the inflammatory pimple heals it leave a brown color blemish that leaves you skins with very unattractive dark spots which take weeks to months to disappear completely, and are very hard to hide even with makeup.

Some acne can stem from sex hormones or androgens. As your body changes so do your hormones and this can produce the pimples and acne that you see on your face. Other factors that can contribute to acne outbreaks are tight collars, hats and shoulder bags. Stress is another factor that can have an affect on acne. Wash your face twice a day.

The acne scars that the majority of people suffer from are the hollow kind. If you have any active acne that should be dealt with first before undertaking any treatment.
